CoreI5 760 PC With New ATI 6870 USB3/SATA6 WIth 24'' Widescreen TFT

This Core i5 Blast PC system, costing £749.99 is the best all round £750 PC in the range, the reason for this is because it was the last Socket 1156 based PC to enter the PC Advisor chart. Systems before it were less powerful at the same price even though 2 of them won Awards (BLAT1 & BLAT4). This system includes the very fast i5 760 processor, and for a long time it was the chip of choice for mid to top end and even though the new Sandybridge range has been released, the price on this has still not yet fallen as Intel know that the performance of this 2.8Ghz quad core is second to none. We have selected a top end board to accompany it, the ASUS P7P55D-E LX has many features on it and is perfect for those who want to overclock, we have achieved 4Ghz per core on this setup with water cooling. There’s 4GB RAM inside to allow the included Windows7 to run extremely fast. We also decided to put in there a 1.5B SATA2 hard drive, so this is perfect for anyone who likes to store a lot of data on their PC including DVDs, music, pictures and more. A DVDRW sits in the front of the PC to do its job of reading CD, DVDs and also to burn CDs or DVDs. Another main focal point on this system is that it has one of the newer ATI Radeon graphics cards in there. The 6870 1GB is a very good top end card and its main job in life is to play games, although it will happily do any other 3D task you throw at it, but it performs very well in titles like Crysis.
Finally there are the peripherals, we didn’t skimp here either, there’s a set of 2.1 speakers, a nice multimedia keyboard & scroll mouse, and a massive 24’’ widescreen DVI TFT monitor. An impressive all round gaming pc, that i'm pleased to announce won the PC Advisor Recommend Award, very interesting read if you have the time.

7 DAY FREE COLLECT & RETURN WARRANTY

If within 7 days of signing for the item, a fault is reported and logged at our support department (01270) 898 078, and we cannot help over the phone, then we will arrange a FREE OF CHARGE collection at a time and address convenient for you (9-5). The PC will then be brought back to Palicomp Ltd the following day to resolve the issue, This is done usually within 3 working days. We will also then send the item back out FREE OF CHARGE on a next working day delivery.

12 MONTH RETURN TO BASE WARRANTY

The start date of the 12 month return to base warranty is the date that you sign for the item from our courier. If a hardware fault occurs with the PC within this time, then you will need to contact our support department (01270) 898 078, we will help try and diagnose the problem over the phone, if this cannot be done then you will need to send the unit back to us at the above address via any recorded method. Please note that we are an internet based mail order company so do not have the usual shop facilitys to bring back/collect items. The customer is responsible for all carriage charges on this warranty. If the problem turns out to be not related to hardware failure (i.e. software/conflict issue) then this is chargeable before the return of the unit.

Components
Minimum of 12 months return to base warranty. Please call (01270) 898 078 or e-mail support@palicomp.co.uk and request an RMA number if a fault occurs. We will then let you know what warranty is with the items, as some items come with an end user manufactures warranty that does not involve Palicomp.

TFT's
In most cases the screens sold by Palicomp Ltd all have a 3 year end user warranty, please call (01270) 898 078 or contact support@palicomp.co.uk for contact numbers for various manufacturers. All TFT manufacturers deal direct with the end user and are very friendly in arranging a replacement.

Dead Pixel Policy For LCD and TFT Monitors.

If your query relates to a Monitor, specifically in relation to dead pixels, please be aware that all of Palicomps suppliers and therefore Palicomp Ltd conform to the ISO 13406-2 standard – the acceptable number of dead pixels based on screen size and resolution.  A brief outline of this is below.

All monitors stocked by Palicomp Ltd are class II Products and as such any monitors with dead pixels of equal to or less than those defined within the ISO 13406-2 standard will not be accepted for return.

ISO 13406-2 Guidelines for Pixel Defects

LCD displays are made up of a set number of pixels and each pixel is made from 3 sub-pixels; one Red, one Blue and one Green.  Every sub-pixel is addressed by its own transistor and so the manufacture of a glass substrate is very complex.  Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, occasional defects can occur.  Pixel defects or failures cannot be fixed or repaired and can happen at any stage in the LCD's life.

To regulate the acceptability of defects and to protect the end user, ISO have created a standard for manufacturers to follow.  ISO 13406-2 recommends how many defaults are acceptable in a display before it should be replaced, within the terms & conditions of warranty. 

All reputable manufacturers conform to and support the ISO 13406-2 standard.

The table below shows the allowable number of malfunctioning pixels that are acceptable, depending on the native resolution of the LCD and allowing for 2 malfunctioning pixels per million pixels.


The standard lists four pixel fault classes. Three types of defective pixels are described:

type 1 = a hot pixel (always on, being colour white)

type 2 = a dead pixel (always off, meaning black)

type 3 = a stuck pixel (one or more sub-pixels (red, blue or green) are always on or always off)


The table below shows the maximum number of allowed defects (per type) per 1 million pixels.

While Palicomp Ltd will replace your screen if it falls into one of these fault categories, or if you experience any other faults, we generally recommend contacting the manufacturer directly.  This is due to their excellent swap out service, speed of replacement and the high standards of technical support you will receive under the terms of their 3 year warranty.

In the unlikely event that this PC should suffer any issues involving hardware or software and Palicomp cannot resolve them by phone or e-mail, we will collect*, repair and return your PC** to you completely free of charge for 1-Year from date of delivery. Your PC is also covered against any accidental damage that may occur when upgrading your PC with other components. If using the carefree option then please always quote your Palicomp reference number and contact support@palicomp.co.uk or 01270 898 078.

 

The carefree warranty is essentially an all cover warranty which will give you peace of mind for your computer for a term of 1-year from purchase.

This will cover you for Hardware faults, software issues, accidental damage, Remote Software access and all carriage fees.

 

This means that if you were to suffer a hardware failure within the 1-year period, Palicomp, if not able to fix via e-mail or phone, will arrange collection via courier to bring it back to our workshops and resolve issues here and then send back out via the same courier. This is all free of charge.

 

We will also help you out should you have any software issues or conflicts that you cannot resolve and the bonus comes from the accidental damage.  Obviously this isn't an insurance that covers from dropping down the stairs etc, but if you choose to upgrade your PC and damage the machine in the process, then we will still cover this under the warranty for you.

Your Order Process

1) Place an order through our online configuration system www.palicomp.co.uk, via email using sales@palicomp.co.uk or on the telephone by calling (01270) 898104 where our staff will be only to please to take your order and/or discuss your requirements.

2) Payment We have various payment methods available, the online system allows you to pay instantly via Credit/Debit Card and also has a section where you can choose to pay by any other method in the payment methods section of the website.

3) Production All specs are then sent to the production department where they are built to the highest standard by our fully competent staff.

4) Testing Station Your complete built PC/System will then be passed to the testing station where Windows7 is fully installed along with all drivers/software. It will then be put through our various testing procedures to make sure there are no faults. Finally the hard drive is wiped ready for you to install your OS of your choice.

5) Packaging All base units are packaged with great care using polystyrene cradles and bubble-wrap.

6) Dispatch All products are picked up from our warehouse on a daily basis (mon to fri) and go out on a next working day delivery. We use FEDEX for all our consignments and they also offer an excellent tracking service, just e-mail us with your reference number and we will reply with the tracking number for your order.

Your Order Process

2) Phone Call If your order is placed online you may get a call to ensure no changes need to be made to the order and that everything is in stock etc so we can complete your order on our Q-JUMP service.

3) Payment If you have entered card details into our website, then payment will be taken. If you have selected Palicomp Finance then the PC will be built and tested within 1 day of recieving the signed documents as apposed to 10 days.

4) Production On our Q-JUMP service, your order is sent straight to production to be built next ahead of the backlog on the standard 10 day service.

5) Testing Station As soon as the build process is complete, a Q-JUMP order will be put straight into the testing phase, where it will be tested intensivley with Windows7 & other aggressive software to ensure there are no faulty components.

6) Packaging All base units and systems are packaged with great care using polystyrene cradles and bubble-wrap and if required double boxed too.

7) Dispatch All Q-JUMP orders are send straight to our dispatch area where a consignement number is generated and Fedex will collect your parcel at approx 6pm

Venom, this cooler is definitely rock and roll. Venom delivers ultra high performance enabling serious system overclocking. The 12cm killer Viper yellow fan uses S-Flow blades providing 30% more airflow than a standard fan at the same speed. RAID 0 (block-level striping without parity or mirroring) has no (or zero) redundancy. It provides improved performance and additional storage but no fault tolerance. Hence simple stripe sets are normally referred to as RAID 0. Any disk failure destroys the array, and the likelihood of failure increases with more disks in the array (at a minimum, catastrophic data loss is almost twice as likely compared to single drives without RAID). A single disk failure destroys the entire array because when data is written to a RAID 0 volume, the data is broken into fragments called blocks. The number of blocks is dictated by the stripe size, which is a configuration parameter of the array. The blocks are written to their respective disks simultaneously on the same sector. This allows smaller sections of the entire chunk of data to be read off the drive in parallel, increasing bandwidth. RAID 0 does not implement error checking, so any error is uncorrectable. More disks in the array means higher bandwidth, but greater risk of data loss.

In RAID 1 (mirroring without parity or striping), data is written identically to multiple disks (a "mirrored set"). While any number of disks may be used, many implementations deal with only 2.[citation needed] The array continues to operate as long as at least one drive is functioning. With appropriate operating system support, there can be increased read performance, and only a minimal write performance reduction; implementing RAID 1 with a separate controller for each disk in order to perform simultaneous reads (and writes) is sometimes called multiplexing (or duplexing when there are only 2 disks).

CABLE MANAGEMENT
 

With this option, we will make every effort to hide all the cables inside your new PC. This has 3 benifits. Firstly it will make the PC nicer to look at with cables strapped together neatly and attached to bays that are out of sight etc, it will also aid in airflow design, so that air can flow in and out of the PC base unit easier without cables getting in the way. Finally there is no chance of any stray cables moving into any fans or moving parts etc.
